Sweatpants are key for lounging around in the cooler months, but since this “athleisure” trend took off they can also be incorporated into casual wear outside of the house as well. If you’re going to do that however, you’ll need some fresh new sweats so that they don’t actually show any wear or stains. That’s right, your stretched out college sweats are not the most stylish option out there. But they’re very comfortable, so maybe you have some sweats for inside use and some for outside of the house. Here are some reasonably priced options to consider.
1. H&M Joggers
These H&M joggers come in black, grey, or dark grey, and are styled on the site with sneakers and a crew neck sweatshirt. The jogger has a drawstring on a wide elasticized waistband so there’s a bit of structure to the construction. This particular pair also has zipper pockets and seams at the knees.
Alternative Apparel’s Dodgeball Printed Eco-Fleece pants have ribbed cuffs, side pockets, and a drawstring waist. This pair is printed in a camouflage that makes them a lot more fun than your normal pair of sweats. This company makes their clothes from both organic and recycled materials, so you can also feel good about your purchase from an eco perspective.
Under Armour is an athletic brand through and through, so when you’re looking for some sweats that can handle the heat these are it. This particular pair has a fuller cut and is brushed on the inside to keep your warm. Without a cuff you’re going to want these sweats to fit you properly, but they are available in both regular and tall versions so there are different lengths to choose from.
This brand mixes in a street wear touch to their sweats, which makes them a little more fashion forward. This pair has quilted panels and a really flattering, close to the body cut. Just make sure they fit to begin with so they don’t look too tight.
You might already have some Champion sweats in your dresser, but this version got an update that makes them a little slimmer and more street ready than the traditional cut. Still comfy, cozy, and suitable for the gym or lounge life.
Another option from the same duo is the Jersey Sweatpant, which looks even more tailored with sporty contrasting stripes on the cuff and waistband.
The Uniqlo line brings out some interesting colors, like this olive green pair for example that is a real bargain at $19.90. Their pants have a pre wash process that makes them comfy and worn in right out the gate.
Topman is a great place to look for casual wear at decent prices…especially when they have sales. This sand color of sweatpant is remarkably chic looking for a pair of sweatpants without looking too over the top trendy. (You still want to be comfortable of course.) It has a drop crotch and skinny fit, with front panels for visual interest.
If you get inspired by the Topman options, you might also consider a truly trendy pair, like these black ones with leather panels on the front. Who knew joggers could get so chic.
